Burley offered the Scotland job

January 22nd, 2008 | By: Ian Rose | 1 Comment »

The SFA has made its first offer for a manager to replace Alex McLeish, and have made a great decision in my opinion in offering the post to George Burley. The Southampton manager is a strong, and to my mind, under-rated coach and if he can do with Scotland what he did briefly with Hearts, he could be very successful. Sign on the dotted line, George, and come on back North where you belong. You’ll be welcomed. Personally, I will be thrilled to have a manager with experience at four Scottish sides (Ayr United, Motherwell, Hearts and Falkirk) and none of them Old Firm. Great choice by the SFA, and I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat until he is formally and finally announced as the 20th manager in the modern history of the side.
