I’m no Manchester United fan, but I do have two soft spots for them. The first, of course, is former Aberdeen and Scotland manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The second is Scotland international midfielder Darren Fletcher, probably the highest-profile Scot in the Premier League. Along with the rest of the Man U midfield, he gets overshadowed just a bit by a certain Portuguese pretty boy who shall remain nameless, but he stepped up today against Arsenal, netting two goals in United’s 4-0 thrashing of the Gunners in the FA Cup round of 16. The first was a great header from the middle of a crowd, and both came from plays set up by Nani. Nice work to Fletch, and I hope George Burley was watching.
